Hello, hello, hello!
It’s just the beginning of May and the month’s been promising already. Well…at least on my bookish notes. 😛
To begin with, bookish subscription boxes have been my ultimate kryptonite since I started trying out some of them and now I’m officially, uncontrollably, helplessly obsessed with them. As you can see, I’ve got a brand-new section on my blog dedicating to all the future bookish unboxing posts. THAT is the proof of my wholeheartedness. LOL
Therefore, please let me present you with my second and unfortunately, last box from Books that Matter, an U.K.-based bookish subscription box company. Don’t get me wrong; I’m still satisfied with everything in their boxes, but due to some personal reasons (I’ll elaborate later in the post), I won’t place any order from them.
Today, I’m presenting to you another bookish box I tried this month and it’s called Books that Matter. Books that Matter is a rather young, start-up business launching sometime around July/August last year, so everything’s pretty fresh and unheard-of to me. What makes this subscription box stands out is that they feature indie artists, designers, authors, and publishers in their boxes so that everything included represents their endless support for those small yet promising businesses like them.
What’s more, Books that Matter is probably the first and number one FEMINIST subscription box based in the U.K. since all of their products and bookish boxes revolve around discovering new female authors or historical heroines. Anyway, I can’t wait to share what I’ve got in my first Books that Matter box in March, with the theme “Forgotten Women!”
Yep, you read it right! I just received my first ever bookish box two weeks ago and I could barely contain my excitement even talking about it right now!!!!! If you knew me well, you’d know that I’m obsessed with all kinds of bookish unboxing videos, blog posts, and bookstagram feed. To be honest, I’ve been eyeing these book boxes for YEARS, pretty much ever since they came to existence. Hence, color me surprise when I can FINALLY afford one with the money I earned!!! ❤
Long story short, I decided to treat myself with a Fairyloot box partly because I wanted to reward myself in celebration of the hectic yet overall thrilling 2018, considering everything insanely crazy and unbelievably incredible happened last year that totally changed my life, and partly because the February theme was Beast and Beauty, one of my few favorite fairytales of all time. The theme piqued my interest immensely so I placed my order without second thought.
Anyway, let’s get my very first unboxing started, shall we?
Knock, knock! Trick or treat?
It’s almost Halloween and it feels right to do a mini Halloween book tag, don’t you think so? I’m initially tagged by the lovely Dora @SwiftCoffee for a Halloween Creatures pick and believe me, I really want to answer all of those interesting questions but I’m preoccupied with work at the moment, I have no choice but to do a mini one. Still, please don’t forget to stop by Dora’s blog for many original posts & bookish thoughts!
Gladly, my dear friend, Audrey @audreywritesabroad created this Halloween Book Tag, allowing me to jump on the Halloween-themed bandwagon at the last minute! Y’all should check out her answers (and BLOG for sure) because she’s an outstanding writer. 😉
Without further ado, I hope you’ll enjoy reading this tag and having a wonderful time in the meanwhile! ❤
Long time no see!!
How are y’all doing? Can’t believe it’s been 2 months since I last posted something here and I miss the hell out of it. *bawling* You know that feeling when you pick up your hobby-of-life for the first time after abandoning it for a long time? The thrill of sharing what you’re up to with fellow blogger friends, the excitement of waiting for an upcoming release from your favorite author, and the familiarity of being surrounded by your most faithful group of bookish besties? Yep, that’s what I’ve missed in the past few months and I surely want to reconnect with everyone/everything. 😥
So please allow me to tell you what’s going on with my life in general and what I’m gonna do about it before my short break’s whisked away not-too-unexpectedly. I’d be updating my current life status and what I plan to read this week in today’s post. Hope you enjoy it! ❤
Happy Sunday, guys!
How’s your weekend so far? I hope you’re having a great time; if not, here’s a little something to cheer you up! As you know, booklovers like you and me love not only the books themselves but also their relevant merchandise such as book swags (including bookmarks, book pins, characters-inspired posters/art works/coasters/keychains, signed book plates), bookish jewelry/accessories, candles with unique bookish scents, clothing, tote bags, and the list goes on and on and on.
Hence, when I discovered this newly established online shop called Literary Book Gifts, I couldn’t wait any longer to share the awesomeness of the website with you. I really have to say that Literary Book Gifts is pretty much made specially for us booklovers and I’m lucky enough to be offered a discount code for all of you. 😉
Without further ado, let’s take a look at this fantastic shop!
Hey guys!!! *waving enthusiastically*
How are you? I hope you’re having a fabulous day. Today I’ve got something really exciting to share with you and believe me, I’ve wanted to tell everyone about this super duper exhilarating book news since I learnt about it last week. 😀
First of all, I’m so honored to be offered a chance to announce the title for one of my all-time-favorite authors, Thomas Welsh‘s (author of Anna Undreaming), upcoming book, the sequel to Anna Undreaming. When he reached out to me via email last Tuesday, I, honestly, was
secretly doing happy dancing in an office with 100 people. LOL
Back to this title announcement, all I can say is that the title and official blurb of the book will definitely prompt you to devour the series. Trust me, I can already feel the epicness of book 2 in Metiks Fade trilogy simply by its title! And my instinct is usually right. 😉
Alright, enough rambling and let’s cut to the chase, shall we?
Hello, hello, hello!!!
Long time no see! How are you? Hope you’re enjoying the weekend. 🙂
Gosh, it’s been so long since I last posted something here but hey, at least I’ve got a bunch of stuff–mostly good and exciting–to share with you! In today’s post, I’d let you know what I’ve been up to and why I haven’t been around the blogging or bookish community recently, and then I’m gonna share my massive book haul in 2018 so far, and lastly, there’s a worldwide giveaway hosted on my twitter for those who’re interested in.
So, sit back, relax, and simply enjoy your time here, okay? ❤
Good afternoon, guys! 🙂
Apparently it’s been a while since I last posted something casual or basically, something non-blog-tour-ish, so I decided to write my second post for this interesting meme. Besides, I also have some plans in mind regarding my bookish and real life; hence, I’m still contemplating on how to make such announcement.
Anyway, I’ll start today’s post by sharing my current TBR and the books I planned to finish this week and then I’ll be talking about other random stuff. 😀
A sensational and compelling, coming of age story for older YA readers.
Rafferty Lincoln doesn’t like horses. Not one bit. But when the popular high school girl of his dreams, Liberty Ashburn pulls him into a world of lead ropes and horse brushes, who is he to say no?
Except this isn’t any old horse. This is the missing racehorse, Profit’s Red Ridge. The horse Rafferty and three of his friends are hiding from the world. And Liberty Ashburn isn’t just any ordinary high school girl. How far will Rafferty go to win her over?
An intense, witty and powerful coming of age story with startling consequences.
