About Me

 Hello awesome peeps!

I’m Jasmine and welcome to my book blog.cup

I’m a full-time uni student by day and an avid reader by night. Reading and reviewing books are my favorite extracurricular activities so that’s why I decide to share my love for books here on my blog. Besides, I love meeting new booklovers and having some bookish chats with them as much as possible.

I created this blog in the summer of 2015 when I became helplessly addicted to active on Goodreads and to be honest, I wasn’t that into blogging at that time. All I was thinking about is that people had to log in on GR to read my reviews there and I’d love bringing them to somewhere everyone else could see.

Therefore, that’s when SmileyBooklover came to the world! I used that name because books make me smile and I’m a proud booklover (*duh*). However, I eventually realized how many people didn’t know the blog owner when seeing this title so I changed my username to the one you see now: readingwithjax. At least it’s easier to tell the person behind the scene! 😀

Since I enjoyed browsing through fellow book bloggers’ posts so much, I finally made up my mind to engage with them more often and tried to post other bookish stuff rather than simply book reviews. Anyway, I’m still working on all this and learning how to survive in the seemingly exciting yet terrifying blogging world. 😛

Enough said, in case you’re interested, my favorite genres are YA, Contemporary, Dystopian (excludes vampires and werewolves), Coming of Age and Romance. My top three favorite books of all time are All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven, The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay and Letters to Eloise by Emily Williams.

Aside from books, I also enjoy listening to music (my favorite band is Imagine Dragons and my #1 favorite song is Counting Stars by One Republic) or binging watching booktubes (I’m obsessed with unboxing videos for bookish subscription boxes). Every once in a while, I’ll recommend some great songs or videos on my blog, so stay tuned!

Lastly, you could also find me on Goodreads, Twitter and Tumblr.

Great to meet you!

Happy reading! 🙂
