Bookish Unboxing | OwlCrate 2019 June Box: Libraries of Wonder

Good afternoon, everyone!

I don’t usually post on weekdays but since I’m suffering from gastroenteritis, a.k.a. the stomach flu, these days, I’m gonna seize the precious chance to share my latest bookish unboxing with you. πŸ™‚ Even though I wasn’t feeling quite perky, I did regain some energy after sleeping for hours.

Anyways, please let me present my first ever OwlCrate unboxing for you! As you know, I’m a huge fan of bookish subscription boxes and after trying out a couple of them this year, I’m pretty confident to say that OwlCrate is by far the most satisfying box among them all. Everything in June, 2019 OwlCrate has totally blown me away–even more than that in Once Upon a Book Club April, 2019 box–and I can’t contain my excitement any longer!

Let the unboxing party begin!

The theme for OwlCrate June box is LIBRARIES OF WONDER, so it’s not hard to imagine that there will be lots of perfect items/ornaments for your personal libraries. The first goodie I get is this absolutely stunning set of coasters, designed by KDP Letters.

coasters

I’ve always adored the artistic designs from KDP Letters as the calligraphy looks beautiful and lively so I’m pretty happy to receive her works. πŸ™‚

Book Beau coffee

According to OwlCrate’s official Instagram/Facebook page, they announced that there’d be an exclusive coffee from Book Beau, the renowned book sleeves company, so here it is! The “Belle’s Library” coffee especially made for OwlCrate.

To be honest, I probably won’t taste it because a) coffee and tea aren’t exactly a good idea for someone who has the stomach flu, b) there’s no expiration date or anything more specific about the making process/ingredients/manufactures of the coffee, and c) I don’t know what to do with coffee powder.

I mean, based on the texture of the coffee (from the package, of course), I can tell it isn’t the kind you can simply mix it with boiling water. It’s more like the sort you need the coffee filters to help the liquid coffee to flow through. Despite my general disinterest of this product, at least the coffee smells amazing and the package looks good so it certainly will be a frequent appearance in my future bookish photos.

enamel pin and keyThe next items I get are the collectible enamel pin created by Brio and Brandish, a lovely bookish pins shop, the key-shaped gel pen, and this nicely illustrated spoiler card. Unlike my usual self, I always avoid spoiler cards for book boxes by all means because I enjoy the process of being surprised by the bookish goodies in them rather than knowing beforehand what are included. The back of the cat and the pile of books here on the pin are seriously delicate, and as far as I’m concerned, this design is actually inspired by our book of the month, which makes me want to find out that specific scene or the meaning of this pin! Moreover, I kid you not, this key pen is exactly what I’ve been hoping to get since I adore all things key-shaped. Hence, I love these little gems so much.

Narnia bookendsAhhh, when will the surprise end? This next goodie is truly a gem!!! This ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS set of Narnia’s magical lamp post bookends, designed by Hey Atlas Creative, really speaks to my heart. It’s also the main reason why I MUST get myself this box since I’ve been seeking bookends forever but can’t seem to find one that truly catches my eye. Besides, have you noticed how intricately designed the bookends are?!! I mean, look at the side and the bottom of them!!! I’m seriously in awe right now. ❀

toteIf you knew me well, you’d know that my top favorite bookish items are bookmarks and bookish tote bags. Therefore, this stunning tote bag inspired by Laini Taylor’s Strange the Dreamer, designed by Stella Bookish Art, truly takes my breath away. I have no idea there’d be a tote in this box, let alone a spectacular one like this!!! Although I don’t particularly have a good time reading Laini’s books, I honestly don’t mind such a beautiful tote with one of her quotes. :”)

Last but not least, it’s finally time for our book-of-the-month! As a non-fantasy-lover, I’m actually quite intrigued by Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson. The synopsis sounds like fun and I can’t wait to read it soon. I’m not sure if this were a stand-alone, I do hope there’s no cliffhanger by the end of it. πŸ˜› By the way, I also appreciate that OwlCrate doesn’t paste the “OwlCrate Exclusive” sticker to the cover! These goodies above come perfectly-wrapped in a plastic bag and I seriously cannot thank the wonderful team enough. ^^

everythingAll right! So, this is pretty much everything in OwlCrate’s June “Libraries of Wonder” box! What’s your favorite item? Which one catches your attention at the first sight? Let me know in the comments below!!!

Before I go, I’m not gonna leave you without the sneak peek and theme reveal for OwlCrate’s July box! This box also comes with a pamphlet listing all the fun games/author’s owlbabble schedule/exclusive announcement for their next box.

Not sure if you could see the photos clearly, but the theme of OwlCrate July box is TOURNAMENTS & TRIALS, featuring their next collectible Harry Potter inspired mug from Cara Kozik! I’ve seen how pretty those mugs are and like I said before, this June box totally captures my heart. In fact, I am so ecstatic to receive this box that I subscribed to their 3-month deal and I am beyond excited to say that I will be getting three more boxes in the following months! Yay!! *confetti everywhere*

Oh, and just a few days ago, OwlCrate announced on their Instagram that their July boxes have sold out, and the August theme will be STORMS AND SEAS, which they’ll include merchandises inspired by The Little Mermaid, The Scorpio Races, Daughter of the Pirate King, Sea Witch, and more. Anyway, I’m already stoked to get my hands on these boxes so stay tuned for more unboxing posts in the future! ❀

Cheers!

Until next time,

Jasmine πŸ™‚
